Primary text
Imitation is permissible for a Mujtahid who is confined to a location where he cannot view the legal evidence and finds no informant except another Mujtahid who is in a position to see those signs or evidence. This scenario is treated similarly to the case of a blind person, thus permitting adherence to the ruling of another qualified scholar.
