Is it disliked (makruh) to pray with a woman praying in front of the worshipper?
Chapter on Imamate and Congregational Prayer
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
It is disliked (makruh) to perform the obligatory prayer when a woman is praying directly in front of the worshipper. This ruling is established based on the Prophet's statement: "Send them back from where God has sent them back." This prohibition applies specifically to the act of prayer.
Supporting text
If the woman is not in a state of prayer, it is not disliked, supported by the report from Aisha. Furthermore, if the woman is to the right or left of the worshipper, it is not disliked, even if she is engaged in prayer. Abu Hafs narrated, with his chain of narration, from Umm Salamah, who stated that her sleeping place was parallel to the Prophet's prayer spot.
