Is it disliked to pray towards a fire?

It is disliked to pray towards a fire. Imam Ahmad stated that if a furnace (tanur) is in the direction of the Qiblah, one should not pray towards it. Ibn Sirin disliked this practice. Imam Ahmad disliked praying towards a lamp (siraj) or a candle (qindil) positioned in the Qiblah. The dislike stems from the fact that fire is worshipped besides Allah, thus praying towards it resembles worshipping it.
