It is disliked to pray while the hair is tied up ('ma'qus') or the hands are bound ('maktuf'). Ibn Abbas saw Abdullah ibn al-Harith praying with his hair tied up behind him, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, stated that praying in that manner is like praying while being bound.
