Is it disliked to recite the Quran during the bowing (Ruku) and prostration (Sujud) in prayer?
Chapter on the Description of Prayer
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
It is disliked to recite the Quran during Ruku and Sujud. This is based on the narration from Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade the recitation of the Quran in bowing and prostration. Al-Tirmidhi ruled this hadith as Hasan Sahih (good and authentic). Furthermore, the Prophet, peace be upon him, stated that he was forbidden from reciting while bowing or prostrating, commanding that the Lord be glorified in Ruku and that supplication be maximized in Sujud, as it is worthy and fitting for a response.
