Is it permissible for the Mu'adhin who called the Adhan at night while not in a state of Wudu' to enter his house and leave the mosque?

Ahmad expressed hope that flexibility is granted regarding the one who calls the Adhan at night while not in a state of ritual purity (Wudu') and subsequently enters his house, leaving the mosque.
