Is it recommended to make up missed obligatory prayers in congregation?

It is recommended that missed obligatory prayers (*fawa'it*) be performed in congregation. The Prophet (peace be upon him) made up four missed prayers after the Battle of the Trench in congregation, supported by the narration of Abu Qatadah and others. On the day of the Trench, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions missed the Fajr prayer, he led them in performing it in congregation.
