There are two narrations concerning wiping the face after finishing the Qunut. One view states it is not done, as Ahmad reportedly said he heard nothing regarding it, and because supplication during the prayer should not involve wiping the face, unlike other prayers outside of the formal prayer structure. The second view states it is recommended, based on the narration of Al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would raise his hands when supplicating and wipe his face with his hands. This is argued because it is a supplication where hands are raised, thus warranting wiping the face, distinguishing it from other prayers where hands are not raised.
