It is sufficient for a woman's prayer that she wears a garment covering the obligatory parts, specifically a long *dir'* (dress) that covers the tops of her feet, along with a *khimar* (head covering), even if she is not wearing an *izar* (lower wrap). This is established by the Hadith of Umm Salamah, where the Prophet, peace be upon him, affirmed its sufficiency if the *dir'* is long enough. This practice was also narrated from Maymunah and Umm Salamah, who performed prayer with only a *dir'* and *khimar*. Ahmad bin Hanbal stated that the consensus of their scholars affirmed the sufficiency of the *dir'* and *khimar*. The rationale is that since she has covered what is obligatory to cover, her prayer is valid, analogous to a man.
