It is permissible to gesture with the hand or eye during prayer. This is supported by the narration of Ma'mar from al-Zuhri, from Anas, and from 'Ubaydullah, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to gesture during prayer. This was narrated by al-Dayri via 'Abd al-Razzaq from Ma'mar.
