Minor menstrual blood is excused, based on the Hadith of Aisha, and this concession extends to the blood of all pure animals. The evidence cited for this concession is the practice of Companions regarding the garments they used for menstruation.

Minor blood from a dog or pig is not excused because none of their otherwise pure bodily fluids are excused; thus, their blood is less likely to be excused. Furthermore, if their blood touches the body of an impure animal, it is not excused, analogous to water touching impurity.
