Primary text

If the second informant is considered more trustworthy in the mind of the person praying than the first mujtahid they imitated, and if the jurists hold that the person is not obligated to follow the most qualified scholar (al-Afdal), the prayer continues as before based on the principle that doubt does not overturn certainty. However, if it is held that the person is specifically obligated to follow the most qualified scholar, then they must revert to the statement of the second informant, similar to how a sighted person whose ijtihad changes during prayer must adjust.
