Is one who delays prayer with intent but dies before performing it considered sinful?
Chapter on Prayer Times
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
If a person delays a prayer beyond its initial prescribed time with the firm intention to perform it, but dies before completing it, that person is not considered sinful. This is because they performed an action that was permissible for them to execute, and death is not an act committed by the individual; therefore, they are not held accountable for sin due to the death.
