What parts of a woman's body must be covered during prayer besides the face?
Chapter on the Description of Prayer
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
A woman must cover everything except her face and hands during prayer. If her entire head is uncovered while praying, she must repeat the prayer. If less than a quarter of her hair, thigh, or abdomen is uncovered, her prayer is not invalidated according to some views.

Malik, Al-Awza'i, and Al-Shafi'i held that the entire woman is 'awrah except her face and hands, and everything else must be covered. Abu Hanifa contended that the feet are not part of the 'awrah because they often appear, making them like the face.
