Must a person praying naked repeat the prayer if they prayed standing?

Chapter on the Description of Prayer

Al-Mughni

Book of Prayer

Book 3 · Issue 3 · Bab 5

Open in Qurani

Primary text

If a person prays naked in the manner described (seated or standing), they do not need to repeat the prayer. This is because a necessary condition for the prayer became impossible to fulfill, leading to its cancellation, similar to being unable to face the Qiblah.

Supporting text

If the naked person prays standing, performs bowing and prostration, the prayer is considered valid according to the apparent statement of Ahmad ibn Hanbal and the position of the Ahl ar-Ra'y.
