Is prayer valid by following another (taqleed) if the time for learning and independent reasoning becomes limited?

If one delays learning and reasoning until the time for prayer becomes too restricted for learning and *ijtihad*, or for one of them, then prayer performed by following another (*taqleed*) is valid. This is analogous to one capable of learning the Fatiha who delays until the time becomes too restricted to learn it.
