Primary text

The meaning of Mahajja al-Tariq is the established path used by travelers. Qari'at al-Tariq means the path trodden by feet, encompassing marketplaces, access points, and travel routes. There is no harm in praying on parts slightly to the right or left of the main path where foot traffic is less frequent, nor in praying on paths seldom used, such as those leading to individual houses.

The slaughterhouse is the place where butchers commonly and intentionally slaughter animals. The refuse site is where manure is collected. The ruling for these places is the same whether they are currently impure or pure, and whether the road is heavily traveled or not. Similarly, camel resting places are prohibited regardless of whether camels are present at the time of prayer.
