The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to lengthen the standing between Ruku' and Sujud (prostration). Anas reported that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah" (Allah hears those who praise Him), he would stand until we thought he had forgotten (to move), then he would prostrate and sit between the two prostrations until we thought he had forgotten (to move). This was narrated by Muslim. Since this posture was not one of silence, it indicates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to add to the mentioned remembrances because they alone would not occupy the entire duration of this long standing.
