Prostration is not required for sitting for the Tashahhud in a location other than its proper place when making up missed portions of the prayer. This is because prostration is legislated for forgetfulness (Sahw), and following the Imam is obligatory, therefore, one does not prostrate for performing an obligation, similar to other obligatory acts.
