Does the quantity of blood or impurity depend on whether it is concentrated or spread out?
Chapter on Praying with Impurity and Other Matters
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
There is no distinction regarding whether the blood is collected or spread out; if it could be gathered to reach the non-excused measure, it is considered impure. If impurity penetrates a thick material, connecting the exterior to the interior, it counts as a single impurity. If the contaminated areas do not connect, but are separated by clean material, they constitute two separate impurities. If they were combined, and their total reached an amount not excused, neither part is excused, similar to impurities on two sides of a garment.
