Primary text

It is recommended to pray six rak'ahs after the Sunnah of Maghrib, based on the narration of Abu Hurayrah, who said the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: 'Whoever prays six rak'ahs after Maghrib, speaking no evil between them, it is equivalent to twelve years of worship for him.' This was narrated by Al-Tirmidhi.

Al-Tirmidhi noted that this narration is only known through the hadith of Umar ibn Abi Khath'am, and Al-Bukhari severely weakened it.
