Primary text
It is recommended to pray four rak'ahs before Dhuhr and four rak'ahs after Dhuhr, based on the statement of Umm Habibah, who heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say: Whoever maintains four rak'ahs before Dhuhr and four rak'ahs after it, Allah will forbid him from the Fire. This was narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi, who deemed it Hasan Sahih Gharib. Abu Ayyub narrated that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'Four before Dhuhr, without concluding with a Taslim (salutation), open the gates of heaven for them.'
