Chapter on the Two Prostrations of Forgetfulness
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
Actions not of the same genus as prayer, such as walking, scratching, or adjusting oneself (tarawwuh), invalidate the prayer if performed excessively. Minor actions of this type are excused, and no prostration of forgetfulness is required for them, regardless of whether they were done intentionally or in forgetfulness.
