What is the ruling on bone used to set a broken bone if it is impure?
Chapter on Praying with Impurity and Other Matters
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
If a bone used to set a fracture is impure, it is not obligatory to remove it if removal causes harm, and prayer performed while it remains is valid. This is because it constitutes an internal impurity whose removal causes detriment, resembling the blood in the veins.

A dissenting view mandates its removal unless there is fear of total destruction (Talaffuth).
