Primary text

If the follower was previously behind and the Imam errs in a matter the follower missed, the follower must follow the Imam in the prostration, whether it occurs before or after the final salutation. This view is narrated from 'Ata', al-Hasan, al-Nakha'i, al-Sha'bi, Abu Thawr, and the proponents of the Hanafi school (Ashab ar-Ra'y).

Supporting text

Ibn Sirin and Ishaq hold that the follower must first make up what they missed and then perform the prostration.
