What is the ruling on following an Imam whose rising to a fourth rak'ah is of uncertain cause (forgetfulness or intention)?

If the followers do not know whether the Imam rose out of forgetfulness or intentionally, they must follow him, and they are not permitted to separate from him, as the ruling establishing the obligation of following remains in effect and is not removed by doubt.
