How is the ruling for an Imam who doubts the number of rak'at performed, compared to a lone worshipper?

If the Imam builds his prayer upon certainty (i.e., the lower number confirmed), the ruling for him is that he performs the two prostrations of forgetfulness before the final salutation, similar to the ruling for the lone worshipper who builds upon certainty.
