Primary text

It is disliked (makruh) for men to wear saffron-dyed (Mutaza’far) or safflower-dyed (Mu’asfar) garments and to pray in them. The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade men from wearing saffron dye. Furthermore, the Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade the wearing of Mu’asfar garments, as narrated from ‘Ali. ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, saw him wearing two Mu’asfar garments and said, “Indeed, this is from the garments of the disbelievers, so do not wear them.”
