Ruling if the Mu'adhin calls the Iqamah without repeating the Adhan after the Muwaqqid (the one who called the Adhan earlier) has already done so.
Chapter on Adhan
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
If the Muwaqqid (the person who called the Adhan) calls the Iqamah without first repeating the Adhan, there is no issue with it. This view is held by Malik, Al-Shafi'i, Abu Thawr, and the Ashab al-Ra'y (the Hanafi school), based on the evidence derived from the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn Zayd.
Supporting text
Ahmad states that if the Muwaqqid preempts the Mu'adhin by calling the Adhan first, the Mu'adhin should repeat the Adhan before calling the Iqamah, based on the narration from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Rufay', where Abu Mahdhurah repeated his Adhan when another man had called the Adhan before him.
