Primary text

If one sits before praying the recommended prayer, it is recommended for them to stand up and pray those two rak'ahs. This is established by the narration of Jabir, who stated that Sulayk al-Ghatafani came while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was delivering the sermon, and he sat down. The Prophet commanded him: 'O Sulayk, stand up and pray two rak'ahs, and be brief in them.' This was narrated by Muslim.
