What is the ruling regarding the manner of wearing a single, tight garment during prayer?

If the garment available is tight, one must tie it around the waist (*izar*) and not wrap it around the shoulders (*ishtimal*), to avoid imitating the Jews. This is clearly stated in the Hadith: "If the garment is tight, tie it around your waist." The Prophet explicitly ordered Jabir, whose covering was insufficient, to secure the tight garment around his waist (*hacuk*).
