Primary text

If one forgets the prostration of forgetfulness (Sujud as-Sahw) until commencing another prayer, the prostration must be performed after concluding the second prayer, according to the apparent view of al-Kharaqi. This is because the forgotten action is considered intrinsically tied to the original prayer location or structure.

Supporting text

The opinion of others dictates that if the separation (fasl) between the two prayers is prolonged, the forgotten prostration is not performed; however, if the separation is short, it should still be performed.
