What is the ruling regarding the Prophet's consistency in night prayer and fasting outside of Ramadan?

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was consistent in maintaining any good deed he undertook. Aisha reported that she never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) praying the whole night until morning, nor did she see him fasting continuously for a whole month other than Ramadan. This indicates the recommended nature of consistency in worship while permitting accommodation for human needs.
