What is the ruling when a traveler changes the intention of their journey to a sinful journey while in the state of intending to shorten prayer?

If a traveler changes the intention of their journey to one of disobedience, they are obligated to complete the prayer. Those praying behind them must follow this completion. This ruling is supported by Al-Shafi'i.
