What is the Sunnah regarding turning during the first Taslim (salutation) of the prayer?

It is Sunnah to turn to the right during the first Taslim. This is evidenced by the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud, wherein it is related that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, saluted until the whiteness of his cheek was visible on his right side.
