Chapter on the Description of Prayer
Al-Mughni
Book of Prayer
Primary text
It is mandated to recite specific phrases after prayer. These include affirming the Oneness of God and His dominion, such as: "There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and all praise, and He is over all things capable, there is no might nor power except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great, there is no god but Allah, and we worship none except Him, to Him belong the favor, grace, and beautiful praise, there is no god but Allah, sincerely devoting the religion to Him even if the disbelievers dislike it." Furthermore, supplications for protection are recited, seeking refuge in Allah from cowardice, stinginess, being reduced to the meanest age, the trial of the world, and the punishment of the grave.
