This depends on whether the waiver caused the right to lapse absolutely. If the right is deemed not to lapse by the guardian's waiver, the minor may claim it upon maturity, and its ruling is then treated as if there was a benefit all along. If the right is deemed to lapse absolutely due to the waiver, the minor can never claim it, similar to the case where a major person waives their own right.
