What is the ruling regarding the crops planted by the seller on land sold via preemption (shuf'ah)?

Primary text
The pre-emptor (Shafi') has the right to claim preemption over the land. The buyer's crops remain on the land until harvest time. This is because the harm caused by the crops is not perpetual. No rent (*ujrah*) is due on the pre-emptor for the duration the buyer's crops remain, as the buyer planted them on what was, at the time of planting, considered his property. Furthermore, since the pre-emptor acquired the land while it contained the seller's crops, the buyer's crops are allowed to remain until harvest without compensation, similar to other pre-empted properties.
