Is ablution valid if impurity is found in the water used, and the timing of contamination is uncertain?

The default ruling is the validity of the prior ablution when impurity is found in the water used, whether the water was little or much, provided there is uncertainty whether the impurity occurred before or after the ablution. If it is known through evidence that the contamination occurred before the ablution, the individual must repeat the ablution.
