Primary text
There is no known disagreement among the scholars regarding the permissibility of performing ablution with water mixed with a pure substance that has not altered its characteristics. Such water remains pure and does not prevent purification because it has not changed the inherent quality of the water, similar to other pure substances that do not alter it.

A view attributed to Umm Hani suggests that ablution is invalid with water in which bread has been soaked; however, this likely refers to water that was significantly altered by the bread. Additionally, Ibn Al-Mundhir narrated from Al-Zuhri that one should not perform ablution with water in which crushed grains have been soaked, regardless of whether the color was changed or not. The majority view is preferred because the water remains pure if its characteristics are not altered.
