Primary text

The view that Wudu is not invalidated by eating camel meat is supported by narrations attributed to Ibn Abbas, which are considered insufficient foundations as they are merely sayings paused at the Companion level (Mawquf). The primary evidence is based on sound, specific hadiths requiring Wudu from camel meat, supported by scholars like Ahmad, Ishaq, and Ibn Rahwayh. Furthermore, any analogical reasoning (Qiyas) suggesting that because other cooked foods do not require Wudu, camel meat should not either, is flawed, as the ruling is specific to the substance of camel meat, not its state of being cooked or eaten.

Supporting text

It is observed that those who dissent from the obligation of Wudu after camel meat rely upon weak hadiths to mandate Wudu for unrelated issues, such as Abu Hanifa mandating Wudu for laughter during prayer based on a weak mursal narration, and Malik and Al-Shafi'i mandating it for touching the private parts based on a disputed hadith, while abandoning the strong, specific, and uncontradicted hadith regarding camel meat due to adherence to a flawed analogy.
