Is bleeding following the expulsion of flesh (bid'a) in which human creation is not yet apparent considered Nifas?
Chapter on Menstruation
Al-Mughni
Book of Purification
Primary text
There are two differing views regarding blood seen after the expulsion of a piece of flesh in which no feature of human creation is yet distinct. One view holds that it is Nifas because it is the beginning of human creation, analogous to when the creation is discernible. The other view maintains that it is not Nifas because the human form is not yet evident, likening the expelled matter to a semen drop.
Supporting text
One legal opinion considers the bleeding Nifas because it represents the commencement of human creation, similar to cases where the creation is fully apparent. The alternative opinion deems it not Nifas because the structure of a human being has not been established, making it akin to the state of a semen drop.
