Combining the rinsing of the mouth and the inhaling of water into the nose from a single scoop is preferred. Abu Abdullah stated his preference for using one scoop for both actions, based on the narrations concerning Uthman and Ali, and the explicit narration of Abdullah ibn Zayd indicating that the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed both actions from a single scoop three times.
