Primary text

Dry cleansing is not sufficient in a newly opened exit if the customary exit is blocked, because it is not the customary path. This is because the newly opened path is rare relative to the general populace, and therefore, the rulings specific to the private parts do not apply to it, such as its touch not invalidating ablution or requiring prescribed penalties or full ritual washing (*ghusl*). Thus, it is treated like the rest of the body.

Supporting text

It is reported from some of our companions that dry cleansing suffices in this case because it has become the customary exit for that individual.
