Primary text

Exaggerated inhalation of water into the furthest part of the nose by drawing it in with the breath, without letting it flow down the throat (not making it *sa'ut*), is a recommended Sunnah in Wudu. The basis for this is the Hadith narrated by Asim bin Laqit bin Sabrah from his father, where the Prophet, peace be upon him, commanded exaggerated inhalation during ablution. Furthermore, since the nose is a limb of purification, exaggeration is recommended therein just as it is for the other limbs.
