Primary text

Blowing on a large amount of dust accumulated on the hands before wiping during Tayammum is not disliked. This is supported by the action of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who struck his palms on the earth and blew on them, as related in the narration of Ammar. Imam Ahmad stated that whether one does this action or not does not harm the validity of the ablution. If the dust is light, blowing on it is disliked, according to a single narration from our companions.

Supporting text

If blowing removes the dust, the ablution is not valid, and one must strike the ground again because the command is to wipe with some portion of the pure earth (sa'id).
