Is it obligatory to accept water offered freely for purification?

It is obligatory upon a person to accept water offered freely for their purification because they are capable of using it, and accepting it does not typically constitute a favor or burden upon the provider. This obligation stems from the divine command regarding the search for water before resorting to tayammum (dry ablution), as stated in the Quran: {If you find no water, then turn to clean earth} [Al-Ma'idah: 6].
