Primary text

There are two narrated positions. The first position forbids any utilization, based on the Prophet's statements: 'Do not derive any benefit from a carcass at all,' and 'Do not derive any benefit from a carcass, neither its hide nor its tendon.'

Supporting text

The second position permits its utilization, based on the Prophet's statement regarding the dead sheep: 'Why did you not take its hide and benefit from it,' and another narration: 'Why did you not take its hide and tan it and benefit from it.' Additionally, when the Companions conquered Persia, they utilized their saddles, weapons, and slaughtered meat which were from carcasses. This utilization is considered permissible as it involves no harm, similar to hunting with a dog or riding a mule or donkey.
