Does a junub (in a state of major impurity) who is also wounded have the option to perform Tayammum before or after Ghusl (ritual washing)?
Chapter on Tayammum
Al-Mughni
Book of Purification
Primary text
When a wounded person is in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), they have the discretion to either perform Tayammum (dry ablution) before the Ghusl or postpone it until after. This is because the inability to use water (due to the wound) is established immediately, making Tayammum a substitute for washing the wound itself. This ruling applies regardless of the general situation.
