Is one strike (tap) sufficient for Tayammum?

Tayammum is valid with a single strike of the hand upon the purifying dust. Similarly, two strikes are also sufficient. If a person performs Tayammum with more than two strikes, it is still valid. This is permissible because the essential purpose is the conveyance of dust to the obligatory areas of purification, and fulfillment occurs regardless of the manner in which this purpose is achieved, similar to ablution (Wudu).
